We held our first 3d Field shoot of the year on Saturday the 9th of October. To make it all a little more of a day we had soup and bread before we shot. One of the nice things about being in a longbow club is the way members have traditional 'other' interests, which, luckily for us included bread making. We enjoyed quite a few slices of home made bread, it is wonderful mopping up the soup with it!
For the shoot we split into three groups. One person from each group wore a fluorescent vest so we could all see where the groups were shooting. Field archery is the only style of archery where we have more than one shooting line and care must be taken to ensure safety especially when arrows can glance off a target and travel a fair way! Fun was had by all.
