Saturday the 27th of March was a nice sunny day. We gathered to start building a traditional 'dead hedge' under Malcolm's expert guidance. The hedge comprises vertical posts some two yards apart with interwoven horizontal branches and twigs to form a sort of wickerwork. Brian and I used a small portable generator and angle grinder to remove some of the old railings at the edge of the Top Woods, making it safer for archers to enter the woods without tripping over.
